Welding Project: Hay Bale Handler

Hay Bale Handler This "How I Did It" project was submitted by Michael Mohring of Denton, TX. Mohring had a problem moving round bales of hay so he fabricated this bale handler. He used 3-in. x 2-in. x .188-in. thick rectangular structural tubing for the frame; the bottom joints were mitered and the rest were butt joints. The frame was powder coated to protect it from the elements. The large spear is 48-inches long. The short spear is 17-inches long and is used to stabilize the bale and keep it from spinning. The spears are easily removable for storage. MORE
